Working with TEFL Panda to help get a teaching position in China was a very positive experience. The recruiter I worked with, Amy, was very prompt in providing me with several different teaching opportunities and explaining them thoroughly. I had a variety of locations and age groups available and was set up for interviews within a week. The benefits given were pretty standard for foreign teachers in China, but the pay range was on the higher end of the scale for most positions.
After accepting a position is a typically when the role of a recruiter ends, but Amy stayed in contact and helped me through the visa process and keep some of my worrying at bay. She was great in answering any and all questions I had about paperwork and translating some Chinese portions of the endless documentation necessary. This was such a great help in making my transition out of the USA go smoothly. I was even given a few lessons from TEFL Panda on basic Chinese culture/language!
Amy and TEFL Panda remain readily available for contact still today, two months into my contract. It is nice to have someone I can turn to who understands the difficulties of a teacher transitioning to life in China, as well as the hoops you need to jump through after you arrive to get your residence permit. My school has been helpful, yes, but with the amount of red tape in China it's always great to have many helping hands. I can say for certain that my experience getting ready for and thus far teaching in China would not have been as positive without the help of Amy and the rest of the TEFL Panda team!
