From the first contact I felt at home. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful during my stay in Lugano. The Italian teachers were excellent and, even if I spent only one week there, I felt I made good progress. I chose the GI20+4 private lessons and everything met my needs. It was just six of us in class and that was perfect because everyone had the chance to speak and to express doubts.
I've been there during carnival and I recommend this period because in Canton Ticino this is a must-see. Four crazy days of music, traditional parades and risotto in the main square. What surprised me the most was that at the end of the carnival I could even talk to native Italian speakers.
Almost all my lessons were in the morning, so I had the chance to visit quite a lot of places in the area, like the medieval castles in Bellinzona. The school staff helped me organize my trip.
If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would attend more private lessons and I'd probably extend my stay to two weeks.
