Review

It was a very fun experience, but overall the itinerary was overbooked and the food wasn’t very good. they didn’t take into account the food culture of London and only booked at chain restaurants that served generic food. The complimentary breakfast at the hostel was also bad and offered almost no protein options. The days were long with almost no breaks, so we were on our feet for hours at a time. We ended up having to cut some activities short because the group was so exhausted. There definitely needs to be some reworking if/when this trip happens again.

We need lunch! There was never time to get or eat lunch and that took a huge toll considering the breakfast at the hostel wasn’t good to begin with. Dinners were also subpar as they were all chain restaurants and didn’t reflect the food atmosphere of London. The lack of options also made it hard to enjoy them. Additionally, the days were overbooked with activities that weren’t necessarily of interest to the group (ie Oxford) and doing a 3 hour walking tour our last day was incredibly taxing. I would recommend giving out a survey of potential activities to gauge interest before booking, as well as a similar survey for food as well. Sending out a detailed itinerary before the trip starts would also be helpful. We didn’t have enough time at some places (British museum, V and A museum), and spent too much time at others (Leicester square, Oxford). Overall it was a fun experience but it was overbooked and quite exhausting, and the food was incredibly subpar.
