Whilst volunteering in Peru-Lima, I made many fond memories. One of which was on my last week of the programme. Whilst working in the special needs centre I had the pleasure of working with a young boy named Griner. At the start of my programme he would cry a lot and I was unsure of what to do. However one day he began to cry and without really thinking about what I should do I began to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I couldn't believe it that out of everything I had tried before hand that he responded to this and began to smile and laugh. The staff too were shocked. This is one of my favourite memories of my time in Peru because it showed me that I had made a break through and seeing Griner and I's relationship develop made me feel like I was achieving something. Another great story is during the school day at the orphanage we had a little music festival and all the children were sat in a circle, when Jeremy (one of the children) went into the middle and began to twerk! Everyone was laughing with him and he loved to perform for everyone.
