If you are a fan of Japan who would like to get to know "Land of the Rising Sun" and like children, we recommend you au pair in Japan! Although there is no official au-pair program for Japan, the Far East offers attractive opportunities to live and work as an au pair in a Japanese host family - based on the Japanese Working Holiday Program.
Au-pairs from abroad do not have a long tradition in Japan. Therefore, you may need to spend a bit more effort to organize your stay abroad in Japan. An au pair stay in Japan usually lasts between at least six and a maximum of twelve months and work around six hours a day in their host family.
As a requirement, Au Pairs in Japan should have basic Japanese, but usually not a requirement. You should also be open-minded, friendly and fond of children. In addition, a proof of references on childcare is sometimes needed.
