Impact

At INTRO our commitment to a sustainable future is a key principle, and the driving force behind our Small Change initiative, which we launched in 2017.

As part of our goal to make a real positive impact to the environment, we partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects in 2019 to plant 10 trees for every booking we received. And as a result we’ve planted tens of thousands of trees, aided reforestation, rehabilitated wildlife and reduced poverty in multiple local communities.

However we wanted to go even further and achieve true sustainability, so in late 2023 we began a new partnership with Path Net Zero to accurately measure our tours emissions, and Veritree to plant trees to offset those emissions.

We are now very proud to say that every INTRO tour is 100% carbon neutral.

Japan 2024 with Intro

had the pleasure of having Meg as our tour guide during our trip to Japan, and she truly made the experience unforgettable. Meg’s knowledge of Japan’s history, culture, and hidden gems was remarkable. She brought each location to life with engaging stories and insights that you wouldn’t find in any guidebook. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and she went out of her way to ensure everyone in the group was comfortable and had a great time. Whether it was helping us navigate the bustling streets of Tokyo or guiding us through the serene temples of Kyoto, Meg was always attentive and patient. If you’re looking for a tour guide in Japan who is knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, I highly recommend Meg!

Intro Japan adventure

Did the Japan adventure tour and loved everything about it. The itinerary was great with so much to do and see. Got to do and see so many more things then if I were to plan a trip to Japan on my own.
Our group leader Yoni was awesome and made the whole trip stress free. He had plenty of knowledge of all the places we visited, was charismatic, and generally an extremely pleasant person to be around. We were in the typoon that hit Japan so a day of our adventure got affected but Yoni stepped up and made sure we were safe and planned extra things for us to make up for it.

Pros
  • Sight seeing
  • Cooking classes
  • Food
Cons
  • No time in the water

Intro Japan Visit was the best!

First, itinerary was great. In just 13 days, we got a taste of several key cities and a few nights in beautiful mountain towns. Tokyo was electrical, Nagano totally chill, and Kyoto just right. I don’t know enough about Japan do suggest other places, although it might have been fun to extend the trip by a couple days to pick up a beach.

Second, we had a terrific leader. Yoni took care of us on our tours, and gave great tips for our open days, when we went off on our own.

Best of all, I loved our group. 12 interesting people from pretty different backgrounds not only got along from the start, but we became pretty good friends

Pros
  • Yoni as leader
  • Great vegan restaurants when we found them
  • Snow monkeys in Nagano
Cons
  • Sweltering August heat and humidity during day, but ok nights
  • One-day typhoon lockdown
  • You have to look harder for veggie food

The trip that has it all

14 strangers walk in to a hostel in Tokyo...sounds like the start to a terrible joke, right? Well, it's actually that start of a one of the most memorable stories I'm never going to get sick of telling.

This story starts out with city skylines, peaceful parks and karaoke chaos (all in the first few days!!). We are then treated to serene settings in the mountains where the only worry is if you'll be lucky enough to catch a glimps of the snow monkeys. At this stage, 14 strangers are now creating close friendships, which is helpful when you're sharing an onsen together. Half way through this story, you could be fooled by thinking its reaching its peak when you get sight of the top of Mt.Fuji but you're destined for higher things! It's plain sailing through to the best bbq and most quiant castle you could ask for. We've now matured from monkeying around in the hills at the beginning of our trip (who'd have thought?) to meditating like monks. Being blessed with bamboo surroundings and then gazing at the golden pavilion seem like something other worldly, yet there we were. And what a way to end this story than with special samurai session where you have to completely trust your new friends to hit the target and nothing in-between.

So, if you're looking for a sign to book the intro Japan trip, this is it. Your story might start off a little different to mine but by the end I'm sure you'll go home with a smile on your face, friends and memories you'll cherish for a lifetime. And, if you're lucky enough to get Michelle or Yoni as your leader you're in for an extra special story!

THE BEST JAPAN TOUR

Amazing from start to finish. So many local cultural experiences with a random bunch of great people. The tour leader Michelle was great at integrating the group, provided great knowledge, shown us great spots to explore in down time and also made sure everyone felt involved. Couldn’t recommend this trip more, if you want to experience samurai classes, sushi making and a little bit of everything get it booked!!

Pros
  • Food
  • Variety of experiences
  • The friends you make !
Cons
  • Typhoon hit us
  • The rain
  • The typhoon (no cons but the weather!)

So much fun for an organised trip

The trip was well organised, fun and full of activities. It was paired with enough time if you want to chill and do your own thing.
Our guide,Vitor, was marvellous and full of energy. We had viewed cherry blossoms, snow monkeys, had sushi making class, soba noodle making, origami class and the best samurai activity/trainings. Travelling within places were organised smoothly, which was wonderful because we do not understand the local language. The food included by the trip was generous, specifically when we had all you can eat BBQ.

Pros
  • Great activities and places visited.
Cons
  • Quad share accomodation.
  • Breakfast provided at the accomodation mostly sugar loaded.

Just do it

This trip definitely deserves the name „Japan Adventure“. It is an amazing mix of activities, city life, countryside, party, and free time. In just about 2 weeks you get to experience so much without feeling stressed. Intro has put the itinerary together very thoughtfully and assembled some unique accomodations. I feel that I got a very good first impression of the country, its culture and food.
The size of the group (12 in total) was just perfect and made it easy to travel around. I felt very comfortable in the international group with lots of other solo travelers and had an amazing time and endless fun with some newly found friends.
Our group leader Vitor was super fun and great company at all time, making sure everybody had a good time and felt included throughout the whole trip. He also always gave us tons of recommendations for the free time in our Whats App-group. Can’t recommend this trip enough – just do it 😊

I cannot recommend this trip enough.

  • Plenty of free time for exploration
  • Tour group was full of cool/fun people
