About Program
Since 2018, Makasi Rescue Foundation (MRF) has been implementing Refugee skills training program in Kampala to empower the refugee/host community with skills for self-reliance. MRF is registered locally here in Uganda with the National Board of Non-Governmental 0rganisations and in USA with the main purpose of rescuing vulnerable people and building peace bridges for harmony and Co-existence (Refugees/Host community).
“Fighting to rescue and promote every person subjected to vulnerability” was the initial goal of the founder BoboMakasi- a Congolese refugee (hosted in Uganda) who after going through all the unbearable pains of becoming a refugee including but not limited to community neglect, discrimination saw the need of bringing hope to his own life and fellow refugees. After starting Makasi Football Team in 2005, BoboMakasi could not rest.
