About Program
The Ugandan Women empowerment programs aim to teach rural low-income and vulnerable women to overcome difficult situations by giving them tools through education to improve their quality of life and of their families. Volunteers can help better the livelihoods of the Ugandan rural women by teaching them life skills and improving their self-esteem. As a volunteer in the women empowerment program you will be working on the various projects:
- Education: Volunteers can teach skills to women in the projects. Common subjects include; Entrepreneurship coaching, income-generating side projects, organizational and time management skills, etc.
- Psychological support: Some women attending these programs come from abusive situations and support is needed to help them gain confidence once again. These include self-esteem workshops or if you have the necessary experience it can be in form of psychological consultation, spiritual healing, and counseling.
