Review

I undertook the Level 5 TEFL course in hopes to teach abroad. I was not prepared for how lengthy the chapters would be and had started off committed to note taking which prolonged the length of time I took to finish the course. However, after Assignment A I realised you don't have to study too intently to pass the assignments. You can always go back to each chapter at any time. I enjoyed the learning activities although there could have been a bit more for checking understanding. The website is designed fairly well and easy to navigate. I found it a bit annoying however to constantly get logged out for being inactive for a little while. Besides being tedious at times the course content is overall very informative. I learned quite a lot of things I had not known about the English language beforehand. It also gives helpful guides and tips to teaching. Any queries I had through the course were addressed usually within a day or two. As far as what happens after completion of the course, I can't say much as I'm still applying for jobs (completed a month ago) nor can I comment on how ready the course gets you to teach. I was unfortunately under the impression that they would assist you more actively in finding placements but the help given after completion is simply links to job sites. If you're not from the developed (first world) English speaking nations, such as myself, be warned there are countries that will not want you. Something I had inquired about prior to undertaking the course but was assured not to worry about. This is obviously quite disappointing as it should be about a teacher's qualifications and capability.

Would you recommend this program?
No, I would not
