Yes, I recommend this program

Best month of the year!

Having spent the year working hard and dealing with the stresses that go part and parcel with teaching, giving up my summer to work seemed a little daunting. However, as this was my second time round on the LRTT India project, I knew it would be well worth it! Having researched the project and knowing that it was well established, I knew that it would be a fruitful and impactful month, not only for the teachers I would be working with, but myself too. But NOTHING could have prepared me for the hospitality, laughter and life-long friends that I also gained. From Bollywood nights, dance-offs and delivering Teacher training, this project was a fantastic and rewarding challenge that was absolutely worth it. So much so that I am returning for a third year!

What would you improve about this program?
Follow up of some sort thoughout the year to ensure that all the teachers that we have worked with are continuing to make progress.

What is your favorite travel memory?

Sat in front of the Golden Temple as the sun comes up in Amritsar, India during our Fellowship in 2015, wondering how the pain of crossing my legs on marble can overcome the sheer wonders of India.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

LRTT has allowed me to learn a huge amount about international education and what makes effective teacher training around the world. I have also learnt about how to work with a small but incredibly driven team of colleagues as we have grown LRTT from having 20 Fellows per year to having 400 Fellows in 2017.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I'd choose to go on one of our Nepal Fellowships as we work with a fantastic Nepalese organization who is well established in the community and this enables us to deliver locally relevant training to their teachers and monitor the efficacy all-year-round.

Nepal is also an incredible country to live in, the people, the food the sight, the nature, all of it makes for a truly wonderful experience.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

LRTT is the only company that runs teacher training Fellowships where qualified teachers from the US and UK can really put their skills into action and have a positive impact on a community for years to come.

We are a company run by teachers so at our hearts is a passion for education.

In November 2016 I spent the days calling our 200 volunteers from the 2016 Fellowships to find out how they found the experience - listening to the stories the Fellows told made me proud of the team at LRTT.
