About Program

Rice in Argentina is an innovative 6-week intensive Spanish language and intercultural communication summer program.

This program aims to build students’ intercultural communication ability through active, critical language awareness and language use in its natural sociocultural context. The program maximizes students’ opportunities to interact with local people through home-stays, community engagement, language partners, and cultural excursions.

Furthermore, in order to develop their own understanding of how to interact with native speakers, students will gather empirical language data and analyze it in the classroom to identify discursive and cultural patterns of communication.

Yes, I recommend this program

Great program with lots of personal attention

This program was small when I went, we only had 8 students. This meant that the whole experience felt really homey and personal. Both of our instructors were fantastic, our events coordinator was super cool, and I loved my host family. Everyone made us feel really welcome and comfortable. When I came down with an infection, an Argentinian from our program brought me to the doctor, helped me explain my symptoms, took me to the pharmacy to get my prescription, and even bought me Gatorade and ibuprofen. It was this kind of personal attention that made the whole experience so great. I would highly recommend it!
