About Program

Are you planning a visit to France and would like to earn some money at the same time?

CAPENGLISH is an established French company (HQ in Paris and a satellite branch in Montpellier). Our focus is to place English teachers into schools throughout France to teach young learners (3 to 11-year-olds). We also run programs for older students and adults. We are now hiring for the next academic year - to start in September.

We offer a fixed-term contract (CDD) for all our teachers for the full academic year (Sept - June). Our rates are competitive and we reimburse up to 50% of public transport costs. In addition, we supply all the teaching material (lessons, worksheets, flashcards, reading books, etc). Benefit from our on-site mentoring and support.

If you are interested and would like to find out more then don't hesitate to contact us. You must be fluent in English and eligible to work in France. Unfortunately we do not offer visa assistance at this time.

Cape English It is like a big family where everyone is taking care of everyone and can count on to try the best ways to solve solutions In case of difficulties or problems. They will always have your back and they are very comprehensive people.
The team will accompanied you and give you advices as soon as needed and the students are very kind studying kids. it’s also an human adventure to teach those kids who are interested in learning. The school people is like a team and they will welcome you very easy in a nice way.

What would you improve about this program?

Try to regroup kids the same ages in the classrooms

After a 3 part extensive interview I began working with CAP English as a substitute teacher in Paris
They pay on time and provide all the materials.

Within a month I was offered a position at a very nice private school and am teaching 16 hours a week.

CAP English communicates with the school direction and is there to support me.

The pay is fair and the travel costs are reimbursed half. The work is full on and takes a lot of energy.

They give real contracts and seriously vet their candidates.

Working in Paris takes a lot of energy too. You need to know how to use the metro.

Be ready to teach large classes and have your methods of discipline ready in order to manage the Parisian children

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

This is a very serious teaching program. Be aware that you will be teaching in primary schools in Paris and the children are city citizens.

The teaching support by Al is amazing ! The flexible hours are cool too ! I love working for CapEnglish thanks to competitive pay and teaching support . Capenglish provides teaching materials and ideas to ensure our lessons are structured and effective . I’ve greatly improved my teaching methods thanks to Capenglish

The communication with the Managing team is great via phone or email . We are encouraged to participate in contests to learn about other techniques of teaching English.

I cannot recommend working for CAPEnglish enough. You are supported from day one with lesson plans, advice and materials. If you ever have a concern, CAPEnglish are only a telephone call or an email away. Their response rate is quick and satisfying. Above all, you are given so much responsibility, that you never stop learning alongside the children. I appreciate all the trust that has been placed on me to represent the company. I feel so grateful to have been given such a fulfilling opportunity in such a beautiful city. The most satisfying part of the job is seeing the pupils happy and monitoring their progression every day.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

I was most nervous when I delivered my first lesson to my maternelle pupils. I did not know what to expect from the pupils, or how they would react to my lesson plan. However, this is one of the greatest aspects of teaching - the variety in every lesson.

I have been teaching now for over 5 years in France and this is one of the best companies I have worked with! One of the most difficut parts of teaching has to be the long hours you spend planning and preparing for your lessons. When I first moved to France I spent so many hours prepping for my classes as I was expected to create my lessons from scratch I was so exhausted and drained at the end of the workday. Cap English provides you with everything you need and gives you structured lessons with plenty of support materials (flashcards, books, teacher guildelines etc. ) so the hard work is already done for you! You can spent your free time discovering France and everything it has to offer instead of lesson planning all day. On top of that they also provide training where you can meet other teachers and exchange ideas/tips. I really couldn't recommend Cap English highly enough.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose Cap English because I liked their approach to young learners.

As a teacher, it's important for me to share the same values as the institution I work with. Even from the Cap English website, I could see that we were going to be a good match since I could see myself reflected in their paragraphs.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The Cap English team has helped me a lot from the selection process to the moment I gave my first lesson. Even now, I feel like they have my back with any concerns or questions that I may have.

Cap English have effective communication. Even though they operate throughout the entire country (France), they are just one phone call away and aware of your work, making sure you have everything you need to succeed.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

Living, working and studying abroad opens your horizons but it also helps you reevaluate the person that you think you are up until now. You will find yourself eating things that you would never think possible before, meeting people that otherwise you would have never met. By the end of the year, you will know a lot more than just the cliches everyone knows from the country, but also you will know a lot more about yourself.

Get out of your comfort zone and try it! It's possible and easier than it seems!

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

As a Cap English teacher, your schedules give you time to prepare your lessons with the advice and material they have at your disposition, but you also have time to enjoy life and sunny days in the city.

You would be attending different schools as a Cap English ambassador; some of the material will already be there, so no need to carry around a big suitcase. You'll have free hands to discover your city once the lesson it's over.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

When I arrived in France, I knew how to say three phrases: bonjour, s'il vous plaît, merci (good morning, please and thank you), so I panic every time someone spoke to me, but it turns out these three magic words and a big smile are the keys to be well-received everywhere you go.

Now I'm able to speak fluent French, but it took a lot of mistakes and mispronunciations. Practice makes the master; mistakes are just part of the learning process.

Do you have a favorite story you'd like to share?

Funny story...

I found love while dancing salsa. I didn't even like it that much while living in my home country (you see, rediscovering myself) and now I have salsa lessons every Monday with my soon to be husband and I have fun and enjoy it like I never did before. And of course, he became an awesome French teacher for me.
