About Program

Join Street Child on our programs in beautiful Sierra Leone! This is a unique opportunity to volunteer your skills to real development work and leave a lasting impact on the lives of some of the world's most vulnerable children.

Sierra Leone remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Our research indicates that there are around 50,000 children relying upon the streets of Sierra Leone for their survival. By empowering children by giving them the chance to go to school – and giving their families the wherewithal to keep them there – Street Child is one of the most impactful charities working in the region today.

Our current opportunities in Sierra Leone:
Research Volunteer
Communications Volunteer

Working directly with local Street Child staff, you'll learn as much as you give, you'll meet people you'll never forget and have an adventure that will leave a positive footprint long-term.

For in-depth descriptions of each position, visit our website!

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
