About Program

The Youth Partnership for Peace and Development (YPPD) is a post-conflict institution that was formed out of the desire of helping young people and the communities they live in. Public Health bring one of our core focus in recent times, YPPD now works very closely with health sector institutions as means to deepen access for everyone everywhere across Sierra Leone. Therefore as we advocate and provide direct support to communities, we work to expand access to healthcare and empower local communities through volunteers as means to tackle the growing and emerging most pressing health challenges.
The institution further provides Sexual and Reproductive Health education to schools and communities across Sierra Leone. Since the Ebola outbreak in 2014, our interventions have primarily integrated social mobilization, community education and awareness, and a long-term commitment to ending health care access disparities among citizens and their communities and in general, population at large.

Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. You can read about the potential dangers of orphanage volunteering here.
