TravelGrad

I went to teach in China in August 2019, I began this experience with 2 friends, we left everything we knew behind in the UK to go teach English in China. It was an amazing adventure, we had support from the moment we signed up. Andrew was always on hand to help us through any questions or ease us through the nerves. Once we got out there, the nerves went away and we had an incredible time. We met wonderful people also leaving the UK to teach in China, incredible locals who were friendly and inclusive, the school supported the whole application process and encouraged 2 way learning (us learning and the kids learning). We’ve come out of the experience with life long friends, a huge sense of pride from completing the year and a huge appreciation for China. We also got to do a lot of travelling around South East Asia and China too which was really fun! Such a great experience overall and TravelGrad is a fantastic company to pursue this opportunity with!

Pros
  • Learning lots of new skills and getting to experience new parts of an amazing culture
  • Super easy to make friends throughout the experience
  • Great support from the start which continues even after you leave

TravelGrad’s Thailand Tefl taster

TravelGrad have been super efficient and helpful from the moment I signed on and now in Thailand. When I had some issues at the start of my time in Thailand, TravelGrad were super speedy in replying to my concerns and also got in contact with everyone that needed to be contacted. This helped resolve my issues quickly and I was then able to go on and starting enjoying Thailand - which I have been! Thailand is an incredible place, and I’m grateful for the help of TravelGrad ! I would recommend!!!!

Pros
  • People - they are unbelievable, kind and helpful.
  • The culture and all the different aspects and levels to if. It is incredible to see, and one that you can immerse yourself into, even if you are not religious.
  • The food - the flavours of Thai food are exceptional
Cons
  • Being so far away from home (but you grow so much as a person)
  • Time difference from home - can sometimes make you feel lots further away

TravelGrad

TravelGrad were great at providing support prior to my departure to Thailand. They allowed great flexibility for my intake due to the impacts covid had on my original departure. At the time, I was signed up to travel to China which ended up not being an option later. TravelGrad helped me effortlessly switch to their Thailand opportunity and I have been out here for two incredible months now. If you want to travel to another country with no worries, the TravelGrad team are a great option and I would definitely recommend them.

Makes the stress of moving abroad much more relaxed!

I moved to Shanghai in 2019, using “the China teaching experience” which was formally, and is now a service offered by ‘TravelGrad’.

Andrew who heads the company was super helpful in getting us to China. He helps with the documentation, flights, job placement etc but more importantly, he introduces you to people who are doing the exact same thing you are doing!

Without the support system of Andrew and my fellow travelers at the time, I would never have made it to now my 4th in Shanghai!

Pros
  • Stress reducing travel
  • Meeting other travelers doing the same thing
  • A organic and organised transition into expat living

TravelGrad is great!

I went to China through TravelGrad’s China Teaching Experience option and haven’t looked back since! Sometimes trying to get visas sorted can be daunting. But, TravelGrad were the biggest support with getting a TEFL sorted as well as getting all the visa documents sorted too! So friendly and helpful. I’ve been in China for 3 years, but still TravelGrad is always happy to help me with any questions and queries I may have. The support before and after you go is just amazing! Would recommend to everyone.

Pros
  • Support before and after departure
  • Make the process of visas manageable and simple
  • Friendly people

Travel Grad - China Teaching Experience

I had a fantastic year, met lots of cool people, learned a lot about myself and was able to experience China.

China was awesome, definitely don't let any preconceptions hold you back, everyone was friendly and helpful. Fortunately I had lots of holidays so had plenty opportunity to travel within China. And save a little cash to travel afterwards.

Andrew did a great job organising everything before we arrived. This made the transition really easy! All we had to do was teach and enjoy our time off. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about travelling after graduation.

Amazing Thailand experience

I’ve been in Thailand for 2 months and honestly had some of the best times of my life! I’ve met friends for life that I feel I have known forever. The teaching is also very fun, my school is considered a bit more strict and I teach the intensive English program but my school are happy to leave me to it and I can have fun and interactive lessons with the students . I’m also living in quite a large city which is what I asked for and with lots of other foreign teachers so my preferences were taken into consideration.

Pros
  • Preferences are listened to
  • 24/7 support over whats-app

Great experience chonburi

It was great overall would definitely go again. I recommended a friend who is currently over there now so that is great.

I taught in chonburi which was a great social area not far from Bangkok it was perfect for travelling to the larger cities on a weekend when not teaching

The teaching itself was great I was in an all girls school and the children I taught were very engaging.

The process itself was quick and efficient which was great, I applied and left the UK within 2 months. All of the visa process etc was explained fully

TravelGrad set me up for life

Isn't it funny how one decision can wholly alter one's life? At the end of my university life, I had already secured an internship in my chosen profession. However, working there felt like a chore, and I wondered if I had made the right choice with my chosen degree.

I decided to take a gap year to figure it all out, and I had heard of TravelGrad through a friend. So, without hesitation, I decided to go to China just for a year to teach English, have some exciting experiences, and, in the end, return to 'real life.'

Well, I couldn't have predicted at the time how life-changing that decision was to be. I had discovered a career which was wholly more fulfilling than the 9-5 I had left behind in Britain. I had fallen in love, not only with the teaching but also with a fellow English teacher.

We are now married with children, and it has been seven years since I have lived in Britain. My 'just a gap year' turned into an exciting life. I have been all over the world, opened my own school, and branched out into marketing.

The TravelGrad journey continues for me, and I will always be grateful to them for making it an easy first step into the great beyond.

Where do I go from here? Only time will tell.

Pros
  • Great Adventure
  • Great Support
  • Great Deal
Cons
  • None
