About Program
St. John's University Discover Spain: Seville Fall Semester program offers students an extraordinary opportunity to experience a country where languages, architectural styles, peoples, and customs blend. With its strategic position just miles from North Africa, Southern Spain has long been at the crossroads of Moorish (Islamic) and European cultures. The emerging, vibrant mix provides students with some of the most uniquely Spanish customs, such as flamenco and bullfighting. While in Seville, students can help change lives and make a difference by committing time to service-learning programs, such as English teaching and soup kitchens.
A semester in Seville will not be complete without excursions. The program includes a weekend trip to Granada and a five-day trip to Madrid. Students will also explore the Plaza de España, site of the 1929 World's Fair, the Museo de Belias Artes, and one of the true treasures of Moorish Spain, the Alcazar.
