About Program

Midwives for Haiti depends upon the time, skills and resources of volunteers to teach our students and support our programs.

A typical day for a volunteer may include classroom teaching with a translator, traveling with the Mobile Prenatal Clinic to provide care to women living in rural areas, or working with students at the hospital as they care for laboring and delivering mothers.

Volunteers should expect to teach our students how to provide quality maternal care rather than providing the care themselves.Volunteers must have active medical licenses and credentials and may only perform procedures in Haiti that fall within the scope of that license.

We can use non-medical volunteers, but in non-medical settings only. People with management, human resources, monitoring and evaluation, teaching or curriculum design, supply management, and international NGO experience are welcome to apply.
