We ask for a small donation of USD 250 per month from each volunteer. This money goes back to covering any incidental costs of running our programmes, such as transport for local children and youth to workshops/performances, workshop materials, etc.

Volunteers are expected to be financially self-sufficient. We will pair you with a local volunteer who will assist you in getting acquainted with the local community, provide cultural guidance and feedback to help you in creating suitable activities for the island community.

About Program

If you're someone with a story to tell in any form - spoken or written word, dance, music, visual art, design, cuisine, etc - we want you to come and connect with our local community. Your role is to share your form of story-telling with locals via workshops/talks/demonstrations, encourage the locals to also try their hands at your preferred expressive form and also share some of your work and inspiration with them.

The goal is to expose local residents of Langkawi island to your special brand of story-telling, and to encourage them to also explore their own stories, and how to express them.

Tell us your idea, and we'll help you execute it using our network of volunteers who will link you with the communities and navigate your way around the local cultural landscape.
