A memorable experience!

Global Experiences did a fantastic job in placing me at my internship. It was well within my interest and skills. The strengths finder was accurate too as my internship utilises most if not all my strengths. Other than just the internship, the overall stay in London was extremely eventful. There was never a dull moment. 2 months may seem long in the start for some people but it goes by so quickly when you're being constantly engaged with activities and trips organised by the program. The program coordinators are always at the ready to assist you but they also treat you like an adult and give you all the freedom that you need. It was an amazing experience and I would 10/10 recommend it.

What would you improve about this program?
I understand that the fee cannot be massively reduced, but a more clear breakdown of the funds that go in to each activity or aspect of the program would be better. Also an option to opt in or out of different activities - that way people can have more flexibility on how much they spend on this program.

One wild summer!

I came to London as part of my senior year to experience what coaching is like in the UK, it was certainly not what I expected. I feel that the placement process got my placement spot on, although it wasn't 100% what I expected/wanted I did learn quite a bit from the company I worked with. There is plenty to explore in London, from all the different markets, museums, attractions and more. My favorite places that I visited were Borough Market and Southbank, in addition to taking a hike up the O2 Arena or going down the ArcelorMittal Orbit over at the Olympic Park! If you want to travel there is plenty of opportunities to do so, many other people took trips to Europe, however, my big plan this summer was to go watch the World Cup in St. Petersburg, Russia which was a truly once in a lifetime experience. I am truly grateful to the staff for helping out and lending advice when I found myself in need, and thankful for GE and the opportunity to live and work in such a unique place.

What would you improve about this program?
I wish that we had more time to explore Bath.

London 2018

This program is amazing. For anyone looking to do work abroad Global Experience is the place to do it. The staff make you feel so comfortable and safe. I've loved every moment of this experience and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. My favorite memory would be the trip to Brighton beach that Global experience set up. They also paired me with a great company that I have learned so much from and has prepared me for future jobs. I have made some great memories and close friends. I have had the time of my life and it wouldn't have been possible without Global Experiences.

What would you improve about this program?
I think just preparing us for how much we would have to spend on travel.

Internship

My work had me learn much of what I needed to on my own which made me realize that I can go after whatever I want in life. Everyone at my work was friendly. The culture difference was too large for me to successfully make long-time friends just in the time I was here, but I can see myself living in London in the future. The coordinators of the program were very helpful and assisted the interns with anything they needed. The social aspect of the program made the experience very enjoyable.

What would you improve about this program?
Smaller cost, better laundry

Interning in London

Global Experiences is the perfect program for anyone to go abroad and gain valuable work experience. I am a mechanical engineering major and the position I was placed in fit smoothly with what I want to do in the future. Aside from work, there is so much to do in London. From walking around the parks or eating fish and chips, you will find your interest quickly. Most importantly, the location coordinator is always there to help. They truly want each person to have the time of their lives and make this an unforgettable experience. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done. Cheers.

Global Experiences- London Internship

I interned with GE over the summer of 2018 in London, England and I absolutely LOVED it! I have made forever friends as well as gained amazing insight into what its like to live and work here! I worked at a law firm in central London and had a truly fantastic experience. I worked alongside the firm partners and was able to make significant contributions to their work that really gave me a feeling of achievement! Over these 8-weeks I have learned so much about my chosen career path, and have become even more excited about what the future holds for me, not to mention the resume boost that comes with an internship abroad! GE also does a great job at supporting its participants along the way, we had excursions and group activities that brought us all together. I think interning with Global Experiences, regardless of where you decide to go, is a great thing to do. You grow as a person, you learn a lot, and you make amazing friends. The supervisors are hands-off enough to make you feel independent but hands-on enough to make you feel completely safe in your new (fun) environment.

I'm very happy to have gotten this opportunity!

This summer was an amazing experience for me and it has helped me grow and develop new life and professional skills. I am very happy with my placement, because I was able to try different things and put my illustrative skills to use in a professional environment. I felt very comfortable there and my co-workers were all nice and would help me out whenever I needed it.
I loved the trip we took to Stonehenge and Bath, and getting to learn more about England's history. The staff at the program are all very helpful, especially when I was confused about things like my commute with the tubes. The housing is much better than what I am used to. I was surprised at how nice the rooms were when I first got here, and it was really nice that we all had our rooms.
I felt very safe during my internship as well. I was able to feel comfortable taking walks or going out whenever I felt like it and there were no sketchy areas. I think the housing was in a very convenient spot, because there were so many shops and restaurants in walking distance, so you could get whatever you needed easily without having to take a tube or anything.
I loved the internship experience and being able to travel around London, and I would definitely recommend it!

Best decision I ever made

My summer abroad has been an amazing time or personal and professional growth. The staff at GE is extremely helpful and would bend over backwards to make your trip as best as it could be. When I got sick my third day into the trip, Carmen spent hours with me in the hospital keeping my spirits up and easing my stress, and went above and beyond to ensure my safety. As soon as I started my internship I knew they had chosen the right one for me. I was challenged at work while improving the skills I wanted to focus on and some I hadn't even thought I was interested in, but really benefited from learning. London is an amazing city but what really made it great was our program advisors and they tireless work from those at GE. I'd reccomend this program to anyone who wants to live like a local, work hard for a great resume builder, and have an unforgettable summer!!

What would you improve about this program?
My only recommendation would be more staffing for the initial placement process to ease the stress, as there are many applicants in the program and some were not as lucky as I was to be placed in the perfect internship on the first try. Some people need a little more attention and I think adding to the team would help achieve that. Otherwise, fantastic!!

Hi Elena! You have to pay for global experiences and the cost varies for each location. However, you pay the flat rate and they take care of finding your accommodation and you will not have to pay again for it. You do have to pay for your own transportation after the first week though, your plane tickets, and all of your other living expenses. Despite that, Global experiences was also really...
