About Program
Our two main projects in Cambodia are the 'Save Poor Children in Asia' and 'Clear and Clean' projects.
Save Poor Children in Asia involves working with an NGO to provide orphans and street children free education. Through teaching these kids literacy, maths and computer skills for 4-5 hours a day, volunteers can help end the cycle of poverty in Cambodia. This project is involved in a smaller village, around 30 minutes north of Phnom Penh.
As Cambodia is undergoing rapid development and industrial growth, air quality is deteriorating. Therefore, the Clear and Clean project aims to raise awareness of this issue, and provide solutions through educating the younger generation of Cambodians. Together with the other volunteers, you will have the opportunity to organise, prepare and run workshops about air pollution to teenagers and university students.
Consider your impact: Volunteering abroad can be a rewarding experience for both volunteers and local communities, and at Go Overseas, we believe all volunteers should have the resources to make informed decisions about the type of volunteer project they want to partake in. However, despite best intentions, some organizations offering placements in orphanages may unknowingly place children in danger. Location
The biggest draw to Cambodia is typically Angkor Wat; however, this country has a lot more to offer. Cambodia is less touristed than its neighboring countries, and there are plenty of unspoiled areas to explore, such as Koh Thmei, Koh Ta Kiev and Koh Totang.
