TRIBAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECT - Kerala, South India
Yearoutindia have been working directly with tribal communities in Kerala, South India for over 7 years. Our aim is to improve sanitation by building toilets for rural families who are living without these essential facilities. Yearoutindia is a grassroots organisation committed to working with communities improving living conditions through initiatives that meet the communities needs. Our volunteers support our work through direct involvement at the project sites working with local masons and tribals. All building materials and additional labour will is sourced local, improving employment for the local community.
Yearoutindia's volunteer programs offer students, travellers to experienced individuals & groups, a unique opportunity to volunteer with worthwhile teaching, conservation & community development programs and experience the beauty, glorious diversity and enchanting mystery of India from amongst the people.

If I could change one thing it would just be slightly more communication about what was excpected of us upon arrival. For example, we were not informed we would have to do bookkeeping, and it would have been helpful to know this in advance so we could have prepared.
