Highly Recommend!

Michael was amazing from the beginning of the process to the end. He really works hard to find you a job once you reach out to him. For example, I was able to get a job with one school but due to some last minute changes they cancelled on me. Right away, Michael found me another job which was even better! I especially appreciated his communication whether it was about the job offer, travel plans, and necessary documentations. It made making the decision to come to Korea easier. I highly recommend to use English Works through Michael!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Just keep an open mind and be flexible to the options that come your way. As long as you do that, everything will work out in the end :)

finding a job overseas

So I was an assistant teacher trying to find a teaching job in South Korea. I was not optimistic in the beginning because I was overwhelmed and had gone through several recruiters. I worked with Michael and was so impressed. He had been great with walking me through the interview process and answering any questions I had. He kept in constant contact with me because of my concerns for moving and during coronavirus. I really appreciate his guidance and I appreciate the fact he found me a good school.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
For me everything was because they use different apps over here to travel- and I didn't understand as much of the language as I do now so small things like getting lost of the subway worried me. But you just have to get over it because you realize you need to do these every day little things to get by here.

Teaching Abroad

The Agent who I consulted was very helpful. I had a good experience with job offers very quickly after contacting the company. I was pleasantly surprised with the competency shown by the Agent and I am very grateful for the help. It is a big task to find good teaching jobs during Covid but Englishwork was able to provide excellent assistance.

I had someone pick me up from the airport and I had help every step of the way. I am happy with my workplace and got exactly what was promised. Very good

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Enjoy the experience and take it day by day. You with have a great time abroad and you can be happy with the service of Englishwork, you will be well taken care of.

One year in Korea.

My partner and I decided we wanted to move to Korea and teach English together for one year before beginning our careers in Australia. We contacted Michael Kim from English Works and within a few weeks had secured a wonderful job teaching together.

Michael was extremely prompt in replying to us and very helpful in organising all of our interviews and documentation. It was important to us that we were able to keep the same schedule so we would have time off together to explore Korea. He was able to find us a job teaching at the same school with a 12:30pm - 8pm (6pm finish on Fridays) time table. This afforded us a wonderful work/life balance where we could exercise and explore the local area in the mornings before we began teaching for the day.

Basically English Works made the process of moving to Korea completely flawless! It was so simple. We inquired about a job in Korea through English Works in October 2019 and secured a job by the end of that month. We were then on a plane moving to Korea in December 2019. So if you are committed and seriously thinking of moving to Korea for work I highly recommend contacting English Works!

Now we are coming to the end of our year in Korea and have made so many awesome memories! If your interested in our experiences living in Korea for a year we started a YouTube channel to document our adventures and working life. You can check it out at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPPXnc_yOiolFJ-ATGWmXlg/featured.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
The food in Korea is not what I was expecting! But over my year here I found so many delicious dishes. The things I became a fan of which I was not expecting are the radish they serve with fried chicken and also the sweet rice balls filled with bean paste.

If your in Korea you MUST also try a Hotteok from the traditional markets. It's like a mix between a pancake and doughnut filled with cinnamon sugar sauce and seeds. Soo good! Also yangnyeom fried chicken is a must. WOW it is amazing! I will miss these both so much back in Australia.

English Work in South Korea

My experience with English Work in South Korea has been an extraordinarily positive one. During the recruitment process, Michael Kim worked very diligently to organize interviews for work that was in accordance with my background and my interests. He guided me through the entire process with great care, and with the skill of someone who has been in the profession for a long time, and thus knew everything to look out for. He handled the processing of all my documents well, and was always available to answer my questions about the process along the way.

After arrival, my employer did, and continues to do, a fine job of caring for its foreign teachers. I felt immediately at home with my colleagues, and feel a sense of positive rapport with students, colleagues, and superiors alike. I very much enjoy my work, both in terms of content and atmosphere, and overall, I am delighted over this experience.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I could do it all over again, honestly, there is little that I would change, as I am content and quite pleased with my experience here. The main thing I would do, though, would be to start studying Korean language more ambitiously much sooner.

Well Organised and Great Program

Michael was a huge help to us and without him, we wouldn't have found our dream job here in Korea. He was very understanding of what we were looking for and helped find us positions that matched what we wanted. He was always quick to respond and answered all our questions. He walked us through the application process step by step and made the entire ordeal much simpler and easier for us. I would recommend his service to anybody who is looking to move to Korea to teach English. He will guide you every step of the way for the visa application process and made our transition here much smoother.

Tongyeong is an amazing, yet quiet place to teach English

Michael was my recruiter. He found placement in Tongyeong in August 2019. This is my first time teaching English and it has been an excellent experience. I work for SLP and teach at a kindergarten in the morning and hagwon in the evening. My apartment is modern and cozy. There is a small, but fun group of expats that gets together on occassion. Tongyeong is off the radar, so if youre looking for authentic culture and to stay away from mainstream expat activities, then I'd recommend Tongyeong. Overall, I'm happy with my placement and would recommend Michael as a recruiter!

What would you improve about this program?
I just wish the school had given me proper training and told me more of what to expect.

My experience with English Work in South Korea

I have coming up on the end of my year in beautiful South Korea, and feel very fortunate to have had a great experience living and working here. Back in December of 2018, I made the decision to start looking at teaching English abroad. This was a pretty daunting prospect and I didn't know where to begin. Luckily after doing some research I heard about English Work and got in contact with Michael. He asked me what I was looking for and helped me achieve my goals and find a nice position. Communication was timely and he let me know the steps of the process and what I needed to work on to be ready to start as soon as possible. He even provided helpful tips about companies to use to expedite paperwork. I really appreciate the service English Work in South Korea provided, and am happy I chose to go through them to find my private teaching job, and will use them again if I decide to look for another job in the future. Definitely recommend checking them out in your search for a teaching position in South Korea. Annyeong!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would definitely be more proactive and outgoing in the first few months to try and make friends. It can be hard to do as a foreigner sometimes, but in the last few months I have found a nice community and had a lot of fun, and wish I had been able to connect with people earlier. So don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and ask to be included in things.
