Is it easy for your parents to ship items or care packages?

Answer

It depends on where they are sending it to! When I studied in Cape Town, South Africa, it took from two weeks to two months for packages to arrive because everything has to go through customs. I had a friend whose parents sent her clothes through the mail and it took about a month for it to get there (she basically borrowed clothes until they arrived). Plus it can be very expensive to mail things abroad. So no, it isn't as simple as it is in the States.

This definitely depends on what country you are in. When I was in Australia I had no problems getting packages within a few weeks. However, when I was in Costa Rica packages got delayed due to a lengthy customs process and I also had to pay high taxes on the contents. In the end it was not worth it to get packages while living in Costa Rica because fees were too high.
