World Academy Chinese Gap Year

This program is for students who want to create a world that is safe and just to people worldwide.

The program is unique by the inclusion of a language component that will provide immersion in Mandarin on a university campus of 26,000 students in a rural province of China, and includes membership in the World Academy for the Future of Women, a volunteer program designed to produce global leaders and accelerate the leadership of women worldwide.

Ideal students for this program are those who believe they are a leader and eager to engage with student leaders from other countries to ensure the future of this planet. They are students who recognize the conditions on the planet can be improved by embracing social justice, human rights, and gender equality. They are students who are committed to taking action and to live their lives in harmony with the planet.

The results that students will achieve is based on their own unique ability to engage and apply themselves to the possibilities and opportunities provided through this curriculum, coursework, and projects. Outcomes will include discovering who they are and what possibilities they see for themselves and others to achieve a world they want to live in. They will recognize their own strengths and the importance of all others in their global family committed to global good and greatness. In the program, they will be action leaders who are courageous, committed, and generous, with integrity and respect for themselves and others.
