About Program

Put your global education first! See Copenhagen and start college at the same time on CIEE’s First Year Abroad program. Earn college credit during a 12-week semester, taking classes from a wide range of subject areas. Immerse yourself in the local Danish culture by engaging in activities and excursions with first-year peers and other CIEE study abroad students.

Stay in Copenhagen for the duration of your 12-week program or see more of Europe on our “Copenhagen to Berlin” two block combination. Along the way, you’ll develop skills and knowledge you simply can’t get in a U.S. classroom. Broaden your horizons, create relationships that last a lifetime, and return home to complete your college degree with a newfound confidence.

  • Visit the original home of Hans Christian Andersen in Odense, or at one of many UNESCO world heritage sites in the country, including the white chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint.
  • See the beautiful Christiansborg palace, brightly colored townhouses that line Nyhavn canal, the famous Little Mermaid statue, and the oldest and second oldest amusement parks in the world: Bakken and Tivoli in Copenhagen.
