About Program
Your First Year Abroad program in Florence lasts 12 weeks and is designed for students from all academic backgrounds. You will enroll in a combination of CIEE course and courses taught online through CIEE’s global academic partner, Arizona State University (ASU). Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while immersing yourself in Italian culture. Live and learn in Florence!
Beyond academics, the program is complemented by co‑curricular and extracurricular experiences such as exploring Florence’s art and architecture on guided city walks, taking part in hands‑on Italian cooking experiences, and traveling to nearby Tuscan towns to experience local food, markets, and traditions. Spending your first college semester in Florence offers a unique opportunity to build independence, cultural awareness, and confidence from the very start of your academic journey!
