About Program
This is our hot weather program, the summer weather is often too hot to train all day. So this program has a training component, but then when its hot we switch to a more animal care based program. It's supervised and educational, there are still the fun activities like taking the dogs to the beach, swimming, surfing. We still do pack walks and go to pet friendly venues to socialise the dogs. Then we have the roles in the shelter that are hugely valuable and rewarding, feeding, socialising pups, you can learn how to care for the disabled dogs. How to tend to their injuries ( new and old ), this could be caring for a dog that lost limbs from a car accident, or a train accident or even dogs that have been attacked intentionally by people ( machetes and guns ). The training techniques taught and used here are more behaviour modification, it enhances the dogs lives no end as it allows them to trust again. If a rescue situation occurs, you can go and help, see the front line of the work.
