About Program
Love animals and think you want to become a veterinarian? A hands-on veterinary medicine adventure is the perfect way to find out! As a participant on our 22-day Veterinary Experience adventure in Costa Rica, you'll shadow vets and animal care professionals. Experience different career paths related to animals as you assist with procedures in clinics, rescue centers, farms, and more. Learn about topics like animal behavior, nutrition, physiology or surgery, then put your knowledge to use through hands-on activities. In between, experience all the fun and adventure that Costa Rica has to offer with your trip mates and new friends. You'll try hiking, whitewater rafting, ziplining, surfing and more.
Our trips are led by expert instructors and groups are capped at 12 students to provide individualized attention and optimal group dynamics.

- Volunteer at a wildlife rescue center, coming face-to-face with sloths, toucans, and more!
- Explore equine medicine, performing exanimations on hooves, gums, and teeth.
- Develop enrichments, monitor animal behavior, and assist with physical examinations in a wildlife sanctuary.
- Assis with spay and neuter procedures.
- Get hands-on experience with a variety of animals, like cows, horses, monkeys, marmosets, sloths, dogs and more.
