WISCI Girls STEAM Camp: Malawi

Video and Photos

Internationally, there is a strong gender imbalance in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The WiSci Camp aims to help bridge that gap through access to education, mentorship opportunities and leadership training.

Girl Up is proud to partner with the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships, with the support of the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, to announce the third annual Women in Science (WiSci) Girls STEAM Camp (STEAM= Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, and Mathematics), to be held in Malawi during the summer of 2017.

A public-private partnership, WiSci Malawi will bring together 100 high school girls from the African continent and the United States to work together to enhance their STEAM skills, empower them to develop their leadership potential, and build camaraderie and networks that will propel them to new opportunities in STEAM fields.
