About Program

Spend two weeks behind the lens in one of Kenya's most photogenic corners of the Rift Valley. Soysambu Conservancy is home to more than 50 mammal species and over 450 species of birds, set against the shimmering soda waters of Lake Elementaita — and this program puts a professional photographer at your side the entire time to help you capture it.
The first stretch of the program is based at Soysambu, where you'll learn composition, wildlife tracking for photographers, and low-light and motion techniques while shooting landscapes, animals, and local culture under expert mentorship. You'll also spend time with neighboring communities, learning how conservation and daily life intersect around the lake.
From there, the program moves to the Masai Mara — one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife reserves — for a 4-day photographic safari chasing the Big Five (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino) in open savannah. You'll leave with a portfolio built across two of Kenya's most distinct
