As with many training and experience-building programs, there are costs involved; however, when boating and open ocean data collection are part of the experience, expenses increase substantially. Sharklife is a non-profit organization, and all funds directly support the organization’s mission. Your involvement directly contributes to the operations and functions of the Field Station.

About Program

Located in the vibrant Zulu Kingdom, this marine biology internship invites students and volunteers seeking adventure to gain invaluable field experience. Participants are immersed in the workings of a professional marine research station in South Africa, engaging fully in each stage of research. They acquire essential skills through direct, hands-on training and comprehensive knowledge-building sessions. Fieldwork spans diverse marine environments, with an emphasis on boat-based activities in open waters.
