Why did you decide to study abroad with IFSA in Mendoza?
Hanah: I wanted to do a program that allowed me to study acting in Spanish in Argentina. Universidad Nacional de Cuyo offered that.
What made your study abroad experience unique and special?
Hanah: Jose Mostafa was an excellent guide for us throughout our stay. I also found the academics at the Universidad to be appropriately challenging and the theatre department was AMAZING. Very welcoming and accommodating to the gringa!
Also, plan ahead- there is a lot of time to travel- at least when I was there, a lot of holiday breaks. Decide where you want to go beforehand and how you can get there from Mendoza.
How has this experience impacted your future?
Hanah: The experience made me a much more playful actor because Argentina's theatre is playful and fun and very physical compared to theatre in the United States. They do a lot more based out of clowning, but not Bozo the clown clowning, actual interesting clowning. I really loved my time there…and learned a lot. The experience also greatly improved my spanish. I also met a lot of great friends there who I still keep in contact with.
