What is your favorite travel memory?
Difficult question to pick only one! I'd say a recent visit to an orphanage in Belize and being immediately surrounded by a dozen happy, smiling, eager faces!
What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
Having a dedicated team of leaders and staff who genuinely love what they do for a living. Positive, dedicated, hard-working people breed success, and this is true about our A Broader View team.
What unique qualities does your company possess?
We are a registered non profit that offers flexible start dates, customized programs, and at an affordable cost. Our aim is to inspire people to travel responsibly and gain a broader view of the world.
Describe a time when you felt especially proud to be part of your current team
When we received a hand written letter from a return volunteer personally thanking us for aiding her through the entire gap year process. She had spent four months with us, traveled to three countries and participated in six volunteer programs. Her letter was so touching it brought tears to my eyes.
Being told that ABV had not only met her expectations, but exceeded her hopes, was immensely rewarding.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
One of my favorite stories came from a medical volunteer who was able to help delivery a baby in Tanzania. The thankful mother named her baby after our volunteer. The volunteer was utterly moved, and so I was after hearing her story.
