What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?
In order to be successful, we as a school must strive to ensure that each individual student has a positive and inspiring summer with us. This involves ensuring that every part of their visit is planned and organized to the last tiny detail. This success is also greatly dependent on having a unified team of employees who are dedicated and motivated to provide the best possible experience for our students so that they want to return to us in the future, thus building a positive reputation as being an outstanding, first class summer school.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
Since beginning working as part of the International Summer School for Teens team, I have gained invaluable experience and had the opportunity to watch our students flourish as a direct result of being involved in our summer school program. I have also seen, first-hand, the importance and benefits for young people of meeting other students from all over the world and learning and having fun in an open, dynamic environment. Working at the International Summer School for Teens has allowed me to understand the true value of such experiences and how they can positively impact on the development of young people by preparing and inspiring them for their future, what ever they may do.
What unique qualities does your company possess?
Our summer school is located in the heart of Scotland and allows our students to experience a unique university environment whilst enjoying a range of different academic classes, fun activities and excursions. Students are surrounded by breathtaking scenery and have full access to a state of the art university campus whilst creating friendships and memories that will last forever. We are passionate about our students and driven to ensure they have the best possible summer experience at our school. Our goal is to provide them with an experience they will not only remember for the rest of their lives, but also prepare them for their future and inspire them to flourish.
Describe a time when you felt especially proud to be part of your current team.
Working at International Summer School for Teens has given me the opportunity to work as part of a hard-working, determined and motivated team, who constantly strive to deliver the best experience and opportunities to our students. Receiving great feedback from our students regarding their experience with us and hearing their excitement to return to our school makes us feel extremely satisfied that we have done our job well and further inspires us to ensure all students have a rewarding, exceptional experience. I personally felt particularly proud when receiving a thank you card from previous students with heartwarming notes saying how much they enjoyed their time with us.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
All feedback from our students is overwhelmingly positive, whether from those who have attended various other summer schools or students who are experiencing it for the first time. Students often tell us they particularly enjoy meeting new people from all over the world in such a fun environment and how they look forward to coming back. One student from our last session expressed:
“Having never been to a summer school before visiting you this summer I didn’t really know what to expect but I definitely didn’t expect it to be as great as it was! I had the best time and met some of the most amazing people, students and staff, who made it one of the most enjoyable and character- building experiences I’ve had, I know that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t want to leave at the end!”
