What is your favorite travel memory?

It most definitely has to be my Madeira-Paris trip. I had just graduated from Uni and planned for a week in Madeira in which I got to meet distant relatives and get to know more about my Portuguese heritage, then I spent 10 more days in Paris getting to know the city with friends and family.

Madeira was such a pleasant surprise with a new adventure and family story at every corner. And Paris is Paris; all will inspire and amaze.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

EF Quito has been a rewarding experience career wise. After a few months with the company, I was offered the Academic Director position which requires the management of a wonderful group of over 30 teachers.

Among my responsibilities I have to detect our school's needs and address these; one principal way is through teacher training sessions which I love and find profoundly fulfilling. This has shifted my career a bit from teaching to training and I couldn't be happier with these new duties.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We are ever-changing and adapting to new needs. And I don't think I have ever been especially proud of our team, I believe it's our ability to do remarkable things and respond to everyday situations that I'm proud of. At the end of the day, the little things we do influence who we are as a whole.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Adapting. Companies have to analyze what needs there are out there and respond to these. This also means staying updated, challenging old ways, and thinking outside of the box.

EF Quito has recently taken on the CELTA project which will not only cater to individual needs of ESL teachers but little by little could impact the standard set for English teaching in Ecuador.
