Staff Spotlight: Norah Hanlo

Title:
Chief Program Manager
Hi, greetings from Barcelona! My name is Norah Hanlo - taking care of the Barcelona and Madrid Programs of WONE Internship.

What is your favorite travel memory?

I loved the trip of visiting Madrid, it is an extremely cultural city and full of Spanish experiences. I am also a startup lover, so apart from Spain, i liked a lot going to places like Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Hong Kong, etc. This connects me with a lot of people in the same industry and transformed my knowledge for better. It leads me to provide better decisions for new programs and bring students new things he / she did not expect before.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Definitely. It teaches me a lot about innovation, hospitality and communication when faced with students from many different cultures. It takes a lot of patience and empathy to understand students' needs, espcially when it comes to he / she being completely abroad. From our side, we look into both career development and also well-being in the program and try to be as personalized as possible.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One of my students, who is an English major and landed in a role at a marketing and finance-related internship position with WONE. She was able to get a full-time offer at JP MOGRAN!! It melts my heart completely when she told us that this experience completely transformed her career for the better. We felt like not only we are doing something right, but our learning methodology has made perfect sense.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would go to Barcelona / Madrid. This is because I KNOW how and what type of services we are offering - high quality accommodation, centrally-located company office, diverse students' activities etc. Especially in 2019, our program priorities on its quality of offerings towards all the students and we wanted to make sure students feel at their best when it comes to live abroad.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

WONE is super innovative, fast-paced and millennial focused! This really makes a difference when it comes to a study abroad market. Our team are very visionary, innovative and allow many voices and cool ideas to bring to the table when it comes to decision making and creating new programs and new experiences or products.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe our vision and mission, that is taking on to transform the traditional experiences, providing students hands-on real work experience that has tested out in many students, are the biggest successful factor to both our customer satisfaction and long term growth. Last but not the least, customer trust and support will also play an important role to us!

I love WONE!
