Hi, my name is Andrea and I am the senior career development manager at WONE.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory is the trip to Menorca, Spain. It has the most beautiful landscape and untouched nature to offer. Originally from Honduras, I am very happy to be living in Barcelona as well. It is a vibrant city and has a lot of culture while it remains to be so international and fast-growing. I am happy to see the start-up scene in Barcelona move so quickly.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have been able to be highly-enrolled in the key decision making processes and in many aspects, either it is operational, financial or career relations. At my job, one of the most important factor is to make sure a clear and proactive communication between the students, WONE and the recruitment. I consider myself highly efficient and helpful when it comes to tailor career placement towards students and connect with HRs in program destinations and finalize the placement.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The best story I've personally encountered with is the return student whom had a panicking reaction when arrived to Barcelona - she became very homesick and having a cultural shock. I was spending a lot of time with her and make her feel comforted. When she completed this program, she has told me that how she enjoyed this experience and my help. It was a great pleasure to hear that and know of her transformation.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to go to the Lisbon or Berlin program! I have been able to participate the orientation event of 2018 programs in Lisbon this year. I loved this city. It is truly a hidden gem of Europe and student-friendly. In 2019, we expected to better the program offerings by providing even higher quality accommodations, better activities and great staff supports. So I am more than looking forward to receiving students to join this program with me!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What makes WONE unique is the clear vision it has, comparing to other "study abroad" experiences. WONE really tries to position itself innovative and transformative, to make sure students who not just become competitive by going abroad and do an internship, but to REALLY gain a hands-on experiences through experiential learning process at a very fast pace. I am proud of this company and what we do! Plus, we are a fun team too.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

The biggest factor for me is the teamwork. At WONE, we have been able to work with a lot of innovative and creative minds that we get to brainstorm together on business ideas - everyone has a say and everyone can make decisions. We want our students to experience the same with other companies. This is what we are most unique, successful at and I personally believe that is what makes WONE successful.
