Title:
Spanish Teacher

Photos

She studied her career and Masters in Salamanca and then started traveling around the world. She lived abroad for 10 years, mainly in Asia, and now she's back in Madrid to share her experience and teach Spanish in an immersion environment, happy to be back in Spain!

What is your favorite travel memory?

Living in Asia has given me the opportunity of traveling a lot around, and I've enjoyed every single trip that I took, but I've always had the dream to go to Japan before returning to Spain. I've always loved the Japanese culture and I was crazy about visiting the country; however, it was expensive and a big project (since I didn't want to miss anything, so I needed a lot of time to prepare).

I decided to go there in my last year abroad when I was living in the Philippines, but the friend I was going with had a problem and couldn't make it. I was about to give up when my best friend from Spain decided to book her tickets just one month before the trip, just so I could make my dream come true, and we went together. It was the most amazing trip ever, not only because I absolutely loved everything in Japan, but also because we created amazing memories and we were together in the adventure.

Now I just want to go back there again!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

When I started working for In2Spanish, it was a very small school just starting their activities and classes. It has been great to be part of the growth of it, and I've also developed new skills in the organization and adaptation of my classes, materials, and activities. I think one of the nicest things we do here is to work and learn together in order to improve.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

What I love the most about my job is helping students to get their goals and objectives in life. When you start learning a language, sometimes you just do it for fun, but many people are really in need since they work here or must pass their exams.

I've heard many stories of students getting their certificates and being able to study at university or improve their relationships at work, but I also like love stories. We have some students who want to learn Spanish because they moved here to stay closer to their partners, and it's very exciting to see how they start communicating with them and their friends.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

It depends on your needs and schedule, of course, but I would definitely choose Viva Spain. It is the perfect mix between learning the language in class, and then experiencing everything Madrid has to offer in the afternoon activities. This also helps you to practice what you've learned during the class and you can make friends to have fun and make the most of your time.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I think what makes our company unique is that we are a small company that offers assistance to students and help them in everything they need in a personalized way and making them feel at home and surrounded by family. Sometimes it's very difficult to live in a new country and in our company; we make that feeling disappear a little.

I'm very proud of our team every day when I see the effort everyone is doing to make things work.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe a successful company is formed by people who enjoy their job and work together in order to make it grow and improve. Communication and respect are two very important factors, as much as a pleasant environment where everyone is willing to go to every morning.

Having experienced staff who know their job is also part of a successful company.
