Staff Spotlight: Sayed Ramadan

I am a teacher of Modern Standard Arabic at Arab Academy, where I have been working for a number of years. I love my job because I get to meet wonderful students and work with other teachers who share my passion for the Arabic language. I hope to continue teaching here for a long time!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to study abroad. I came directly from my village in Egypt to study in Cairo. However, I love meeting students from around the world at Arab Academy and hearing about their experiences in their home countries.

We are currently working on an Arabic program for schools in Africa and an affiliated University in Minya, a city in the south of Egypt. These programs will provide an even more diverse learning experience for our study abroad students. In the meanwhile, the other teachers and I continue to work our hardest on creating a stimulating learning environment for our students in Cairo.

I believe studying abroad will only become more popular in the future. Students will continue to study in more exotic places, especially now that it's easier to stay in touch with family and friends at home. International education will also become more popular for students even after college. At Arab Academy, we welcome students of any age and experience level and are excited to work with you whether you are still in university, a recent graduate, or somewhere else in your career looking for an adventure.

Most underrated: Egypt, of course! When many people think of Egypt, they remember only the Pyramids and the Sphinx, but Egypt has thousands more of years of history to offer, plus a very exciting modern life. Most overrated: Any country that speaks the same language. Where is the challenge in that?
