Company Description
Our mission is to promote education and social development in our local communities. Our Vision is equal opportunities in Peru for everyone to succeed and thrive.
We work in informal settlements where many community members have been displaced by climate change, disaster and political instability. They live in precarious circumstances, few have running water or sewage provision and there is only sporadic electricity. Additionally, many children are forced to work instead of continuing their education and there are no community-based facilities for learning and developing new skills in a safe environment.
Job Description
Otra Cosa Network (OCN) is an educational NGO based in Huanchaco, near Trujillo, in Northern Peru. We offer various volunteering opportunities in teaching, marketing, fundraising, HR and other admin/office roles, all of which can be adapted into internships for students. We encourage volunteers to tailor their experience to suit their interests or fields of study.

We do require a small contribution for volunteers / interns to make to cover the overheads of their placement, with any excess funds going directly to running the field projects. This contribution is much lower than the fees charged by many other 'voluntourism' companies and organisations (which can charge hundreds of pounds per week!), and the low-cost volunteering model ensures the continuity of our grassroots community development projects.
