Job Description

2 spots available: Opportunity to train and share with Colombian first responders in the fields of medicine will offer an unforgettable and valuable experience for anyone interested in health professions.

While participating, you may visit our new Veterans & First-Responders Retreat Center as well as work with other local & regional health-related organizations such as retirement homes, youth shelter, childcare center for children, public school physical education, community club sports, and dog haven.

You will participate alongside EMT's serving on (4) 12-hour work shifts per week assigned to senior staff of the Chinchina Fire Department. You will go on emergency response calls and be permitted to observe and participate as a team member, based on your experience under the judgement call of the shift supervisor. You will not administer life-saving support unless absolutely needed and only under the direct command of your shift supervisor, and as always, only based on your professional experience. All shifts will be fully staffed by EMT professionals and your role is expected to be only for observation and cross-training. Outside of emergency response time, you will be expected to perform all duties assigned to you alongside your station team member which include job training, worksite clean-up, equipment maintenance, community outreach, physical training, and other duties as assigned. You will experience a true-life experience alongside First Responders in Colombia.
