Job Qualifications

  • Fluent in English
  • Internationally recognised nursing (Registered Nurse, or equivalent) or paramedic qualification
  • Intermediate level skier or snowboarder, confident on all pistes in all conditions
  • Internationally recognised ski and/or snowboard instructor qualification or alternatively an advanced level skier or snowboarder with extensive ski or snowboard teaching experience to advanced level
  • Experience supervising and motivating children, preferably in a camp environment, an advantage
  • Valid driving licence to drive manual (stick-shift) vehicles
  • Organised, creative, adaptable, trustworthy, patient and presentable

Job Description

We are looking for a Healthcare Counsellor with ski or snowboarding teaching experience. This position is extremely challenging, demanding enthusiasm and professionalism from wake-up to lights-out, but is also incredibly rewarding. You will face multiple issues on a daily basis and are expected to provide fun, challenges, instruction and supervision, as well as discipline when required, all while also being a friend to the children.

Responsibilities:
-Treat minor injuries and health issues and coordinate treatment with local medical facilities for serious injuries
-Take responsibility for the health and well-being of the children, school chaperones and Viamonde staff
-Maintain the first aid and basic medication supplies in the resort
-In coordination with the school chaperones, store and distribute any medications that are prescribed to the children by medical personnel
-Maintain accurate medical records and prepare detailed reports, as required
-Supervise the children during all meal times
-Assist with the daily ski and snowboard programme
-Participate in and contribute to the compulsory training and assessment period
-Prepare for and instruct a daily lesson plan appropriate to the ability level of the children
-Assist in the organisation of and participate fully in an evening activity programme, as required
-Assist school chaperones with wake-up, lights-out and other supervisory duties, as required
-Escort the groups from/to their arrival/departure at airports and train stations, as required
-Accompany the groups on excursions and participate in visits to places of interest, as required
-Be a role model to the children, acting responsibly and in a caring manner at all times
-Show understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultural backgrounds within the children, school chaperones and Viamonde staff
