Baobab Wildlife Sanctuary

Why choose Baobab Wildlife Sanctuary?

Baobab Wildlife Sanctuary (BWS) is a 1,200-hectare conservation reserve located in the bushveld of Limpopo, South Africa. Our mission is to protect biodiversity, support academic research, and promote sustainability through immersive, hands-on field programs.

Originally launched as a research base for international students, BWS has been relaunched post-COVID with a renewed focus on hosting field studies, dissertations, and ecological monitoring projects. We provide a safe, well-managed environment for students, researchers, and conservationists to explore African ecosystems in their natural setting.

Participants stay at our bush camp and gain direct exposure to wildlife, savanna ecology, plant studies, and more. From tracking mammals to studying bird behavior and insect diversity, BWS offers meaningful field experiences that contribute to real conservation outcomes.
