Batoni Art Workshops

Batoni Workshops offer a fully immersive art restoration experience – fusing together local cuisine, history and traditional art restoration techniques. By creating a relaxing and educational environment we aim to bring together people with a love or interest in art restoration. With over 30 years’ experience in painting and frame restoration we invite you to experience the world of fine art restoration through a residential 10 day course.

Throughout the informative and relaxed course you will be shown the necessary steps into conserving and restoring an early oil painting, including relining, cleaning and retouching.

You will also be able to create your own ‘period’ frame to take home - by building up layers of gesso, bole and applying ‘compo’ decoration and finishing with metal leaf.

Throughout the stay guests will be treated to a number of local cuisines along with superb local wines and also we include many unforgettable day excursions into the heart of Puglia.
