Bike & Build is a fun and life changing experience! If you are looking to make an impact on communities, meet a wide variety of lifelong friends, and/or do some personal soul searching all while getting in the best shape of your life, you have found the program for you!! There is something about riding a bicycle along with a supportive group of teammates and being intimately close to nature on a daily basis for such a long time that changes your life perspective. 5 years later I still think about B&B regularly, how much I would be missing out on today if I had not done the trip, keep in close touch with lifelong friends, and even married one of my teammates!
I would recommend Bike & Build to ANYONE who is able to ride a bicycle (or learn!)
What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
I was surprised by the wide spectrum of micro-cultures in each town we visited. There is truly something unique to learn from the communities you bike through and sleep in. You will go through college towns, lots of farmland, suburbs, and maybe even a city! Your eyes will be opened to new ways to live, new ways to think, new career paths, and a ton of other “new’s”!
