Bridge the Gap: Vorovoro Island

Why choose Bridge the Gap: Vorovoro Island?

Since 2013, in partnership with Fiji's Mali tribe, we've facilitated authentic cultural immersion programs focused on experiential education and service-learning on Vorovoro, a private island in rural Fiji.

What Makes Us Unique?

The Pristine, Remote Location: Vorovoro is far off the tourist path and is used as a gathering place for the Mali people to this day. The private island also offers four volcanic peaks, untouched beaches, and unparalleled access to the Cakaulevu Reef, the third-longest barrier reef in the world.

The Unprecedented Levels of Cultural Immersion: Vorovoro is the home of Tui Mali, their revered chief, who is our host and welcomes us to his island. Tui Mali keeps trips infrequent and group sizes small so as to “tread lightly” on Vorovoro's natural environment and deep traditions. When you step foot on Vorovoro, you are not hosted by polished, blasé hospitality professionals, but instead by people truly excited to share this time and their unique culture with you.
