Bugembe Initiative for Development (BID)

Coming from the busy city of London, this was a fantastic experience to open my mind, get to know a fastinating culture while being able to reach out to people in need and support this honest, small charity led by Ivan. I have been able to learn a lot about the food, the way of living and about the people in Uganda thanks to BID. I was able to learn how to make bricks for the organisation, plant vegetables for food supply and visit villages where vulnerable people are helped and women are empowered thanks to BID Uganda.

Overall, thank you so much for letting me get to know this growing organization and being able to see how amazing people, such as everyone working in BID, can help others with the least of resources.

I will never forget this experience, thank you and hopefully I will come back in the near future!

Wonderful project! It was an experience that was full of understanding how the community works to help each other in need. Spending time with the locals meant I got a really in-depth understanding of the issues they have day to day and what I can do to help in the smallest ways. The whole time we have spent here at BID was amazing and fun. We tried to spot every moment to deliver the stories that we’ve heard and felt to the other countries. I would like to extend my gratitude to Mr. Ivan, Mr. Vincent and Mr. James. Also, we had unforgettable time with our local host family. We’ve offered fresh meals and a cozy room. We will never forget the whole moments – the people and their life story. The management is welcoming. For the time I volunteered with Bugembe initiative for development, the meals were very okay and we could have it in time. The volunteer team that was in charge of volunteers was so caring and amazing.
