Cheyenne River Youth Project

Why choose Cheyenne River Youth Project?

CRYP was founded in Eagle Butte, South Dakota on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation 25 years ago. Since then, it has become a vital part of the community and has grown from operating out of a single building to running after-school, weekend, and summer programming at a teen center and a youth center, growing fruits and vegetables for the community in a two and a half acre organic garden, and providing a family services program that offers local families household necessities.

Volunteers work hard at CRYP to provide a fun, safe place for children to come spend time with us everyday. Among other tasks, they help staff implement much of the youth programming we do, aid in the delivery of family services, prepare nutritious meals and
snacks for the children, and perform day to day operational tasks such as building maintenance and fundraising. Our volunteers put in long hours and lots of hard work but the experience is a life changing one.
