Cordillera Tropical Foundation

Established in 2000, Cordillera Tropical Foundation is a grass-roots Ecuadorian non-profit organization dedicated to working with local communities to protect the Tropical Andes. Founded by a group of local landowners, the organization works with indigenous and mestizo communities to conserve mountain cultures and landscapes in the southern Ecuadorian Andes.
You will volunteer alongside Ecuadorian staff with decades of experience and engage local communities in conservation via education, ecosystem restoration, and community building. Together, we will work to save the region’s rapidly disappearing cloud forests and páramo grasslands while encouraging communities to maintain their local traditions.
Our volunteer experience will put you on the front lines of conservation and provide you with the first-hand opportunity to explore the challenges of conserving cultures, wildlife, and native habitats.
