I highly recommend Education Adventure! I worked with Sally, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. After a short interview, she quickly found a campus that fit my preferred location and student age range. I was always kept in the loop about what the documents and forms were required next. Sally was so efficient that there was virtually no delay on her end––it was all up to me to get my documents in order! It's been two months in Korea, and so far I have no complaints :D

I was looking for programs in South Korea and was overwhelmed by all the options. I stumbled across Education Adventure and applied on a whim. Sally got back to me very quickly and she did a great job with explaining to me what programs were available and the benefits for each option. After I chose my path, she was there every step of the way from the interview to the visa application and any other question that I had for her. She was extremely helpful in this very complicated process of trying to find work abroad. She was able to find me a great job at a great location and I'm enjoying my time out here in South Korea! Would highly recommend Sally for anyone looking to work and live out in South Korea!

I have had the pleasure of working with Sally and Education Adventure twice now while teaching in Korea. The first time was shortly after university. Sally found me a great job working at a hagwon (yes, I know hagwons have a bad rap and you may think this is impossible) in Suwon, just outside of Seoul. The second time Sally found me a great job in Busan that had everything I was looking for in a teaching position. The reason I chose Sally over other recruiters was because she listened to my needs and wants and didn't put me into the first position she had available. Also, she has been there to answer any questions I have had during both of my experiences in Korea, whether they be prior to my arrival about my visa or after landing in regards to working hours, overtime pay, health insurance, or any old random question. She and Education Adventure have been extremely professional, helpful, and I would recommend them to any of my friends. Stick with Sally! She knows what she is doing and will find the right school for you!

For anyone looking to teach English in Korea I would highly recommend going through Education Adventure! Sally, who runs the program, will guide you every step of the way and make sure that you feel comfortable throughout the process of securing a teaching position. She takes the time to get to know you and really focuses on what positions would be a good fit based on your personality, teaching experience (which was none, in my case), and other preferences you might have. Any time you have a question or concern you can email, call, or Skype Sally and she will respond very quickly. She even takes the time to visit some of her teachers in Korea!

Working with Sally and Education Adventure was a great experience and I couldn't be happier that I chose to use them as my recruiter. If you are unsure about who to use, use Education Adventure! I promise you will be happy with how you are treated. Sally makes you feel very comfortable, in what could otherwise be a very intimidating process.

What would you improve about this program?
Honestly, I am not sure what I would change. Everything was so easy!

I am very happy with the work Education Adventure did to secure me a school in Busan. Sally really went the extra mile with everything. She held my hand during the entire recruitment process, telling me exactly what I needed and what I had to do. I also have to give her a big thumbs up for helping me get to my school. I was supposed to find my own way from the Seoul Airport to the Gimhae airport I order to get my flight to Busan and Sally actually arranged a for someone to meet me at the airport, buy my bus ticket and walk me right to the ticket counter. I was dreading trying to figure out how to get to the next airport to make my flight in time but Sally took care of that for me. The school she set me up with is great. The only thing I feel I need to mention is, make sure you're not the only foreigner at the school you're going to teach at. It can be really hard to make friends if you don't have anyone to show you around. Otherwise you're stuck venturing out into the city to visit foreigner bars and hoping to meet people who will take you under their wing.

What would you improve about this program?
Better explanation of the contracts. Especially concerning the vacation time.

Sally Kwon

Job Title
Director
Sally Kwon has been placing ESL teachers with public and private schools since 2008. She came to Canada in 2005 to improve her English in order to be an English teacher in South Korea. Instead of being a teacher, she became a recruiter and has been helping the other students find teaching placements.

What is your favorite travel memory?

Sally from Education Adventure

I have travelled USA, Canada, France, Germany, Czech, Vietnam, and New Zealand. All of the countries have provided me with unique memories. But, I must say Paris was the most amazing place due to its history, culture, and the beautiful people and architecture.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I started as a Job placement Coordinator in 2008 and now I run this company. It has given me such a rewarding experience over the years. I seek for what teachers would be happy with. I realized motivated happy people make things work a lot better and they become a great educator to children.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

We have many teachers that return after their teaching experiences in Korea. One of the teachers told me that "teaching English in South Korea was a life-changing experience". Also some of our returned teachers have enrolled in a bachelors degree in education to be a certified teacher after they completed a year contract in South Korea. I felt like I helped the others to find their long-time goal or dream.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

We understand the Korean educational system since all of us were educated in South Korea, but also we have great understanding of English-speaking culture since all of us have lived in Canada.

We understand both what teachers are concerned about, and what the schools in South Korea are looking for.

Our staff is very experienced in education, recruiting, and marketing. I am very proud my team. They have skills and heart.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Our clients: schools, and teachers are very satisfied with our recruitment service and refer more schools and potential teachers to us. We are honest, sincere, and do our best to give the best experiences to our clients. I hope that we can assist more teachers and schools in the future.
